Florida's new security law goes into effect
- By FMLC StaffFlorida's new seaport security law, passed during the most recent Legislative Session in the form of HB 7141 and signed into law by Governor Crist just a few weeks ago, went into effect on July 1st. There has been some initial confusion in implementing the law, but port directors and security staff are encouraged by recent meetings with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that wrinkles will soon be ironed out. We hope to have more information for you in the next few days.
