With the economy as unstable as it is, unemployment at high levels, and a general uncertainty in the mind of consumers, how can a new business start-up enter into the marketplace and be resistant to such adversity?
Vending machines have proven to be tremendously resistant through recession and economic downturn and here’s why: During times of low income and economic uncertainty, large purchases and big ticket items tend to suffer. Not so with vending.
Vending offers very low cost transactions. Usually under $1, consumers do not feel as though they need to cut back on such a small purchase. Secondly, children’s toys, candy, and novelty gum items provide for “cheap entertainment” for the kids. When times are tough and Dad just lost his job, the new bike that was promised may not be a reality. But a handful of quarters for video games, or fun toys can often become a replacement.
