The Gladiators though catered from the lower sections of Romans yet had a political importance. They were tactfully used to gain capitalistic powers. As soon as the training became more regimented and structured they posed a threat on the political order as they formed private armies to avenge atrocities against them. Although modern athletes take up lean meat, eggs for protein, gladiators had a vegetarian diet that increased the level of strontium in their muscles. To train like a gladiator it is important, that weight lifting programs, aerobic exercises, monitoring respiration should be incorporated into the training schedule apart from consuming vegetables, fruits, barley and beans.
